Segmentation fault (core dumped)
It caused a segfault as soon as the player window opened.
Below is the second run of trying to play the DVD, after setting two
environment variables. Also caused a segfault, but note the differences in
the error messages at the end:

If we can converge on a solution for this problem, I will write up a HOWTO
and post it on the OpenSUSE Hardware Forum. No matter what search terms I
used, or what search engine I used, I could find nothing on the web that
would really help me solve this problem.
