The first issue is that packman and videolan use different ffmpeg.
AFAIK packman uses the bleeding edge one and videolan the more stable one.

The second issue is that packman and videolan use different naming for
their packages.

The third issue is that pakcman's vlc release very seldom works as it
suppose to.

I already gave up on asking for a videolan/packman consolidation of some
extend.

Now I use the videolan ffmpeg/libs/vlc and recompile all packman video
packages against videolan ffmpeg. It's a lost time for me, but I don't
see any other solution at this point.
