Your guess is correct, I installed the current version from the mozilla
repo (72.0.2 (64-Bit))

After I created the target directory, the link works and flash reappears
in the plugins

mkdir /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ &&
ln -s /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/
