There are two possibilities for your problem;
1. the MPlayer itself is old.
and/or,
2. you have a problem with the H264 codec.
In my case;
MPlayer 1.5.r38441-12 (C) 2000-2023 MPlayer Team

Here, I replaced libx264 with packman's
libx264-164-0.164+git20220602.baee400f-150500.1.pm.3.x86_64.rpm and
tested with the 2008 ts file, and no problem occurs.
I can't say for sure without testing the playback of the same video
file as yours, but it could be the MPlayer itself.
Can I test with the file you used too?
Regards.
