I now did some more testing.

It seems I have more of a bluetooth issue. I usually use a bluetooth
headphone.

I tried ALSA and pulseaudio, the hiccups occured with both systems.

And: it happens with VLC too! This makes it unlikely to be a xinelib2
only issue.

I do some more testing to find out if the situation improves when using
a wired headphone...
