FYI: I'm making progress on this issue:

This page documents details about how to port simple ffmpeg functions
to their newer replacements.

I successfully ported gnash to libffmpeg-devel and now working on
gstreamer-0_10-plugins-ffmpeg.

It's hard but fun 'coz we indeed extends a project's life scope.
