Yes, you could, but it would be obsolete again in the future...
You won't be able to keep up with nvidia, would you? Or are you affiliated? ;)

As I wrote in the other EMail, the best thing to do IMHO would be to just 
unpublish the package and remove the binaries...

Then other packages like conky (and ksensors I guess ;) ) could still build 
against it.
