Hi,
I thought Essentials was meant as kind of minimal, safe addon for
released distros? Now there are almost 200 packages in it, including
ones that are published for distros where the package already
exists.
Just taking a random sample:
- SDL_sound: copy (ie no link, no branch) of version 1.0.3 that was
even in 11.1 already
- schroedinger: unversioned link to a devel project, published for
11.3 which already has version 1.0.9. There was no ABI nor ABI
change so why? If there are any important bug fixes in 1.0.10 then
why not just request an online update instead of throwing an
unreviewed, moving target from a devel project at the users?
- taglib: again unversioned link to a devel project. The package
even has different subpackages than on the distro. Is this version
update needed at all? If so and it's safe why not request a
maintenance update?
