It appears the mediatomb RPM may have been built incorrectly. There is no /usr/bin/mediatomb binary in the RPM which makes it not function. This seems to be the case on all the RPMs I looked at (11.3 and 11.4, i586 and x86_64). The /etc/init.d/mediatomb script checks for this file and exists when it is not found so it can't start the service.

Please look into this.
