No, I don't need real-time priorities and certainly no TCP ports.
I just want to run it while I'm logged in as root on a non-networked
machine. (Also, sometimes I just need access to various partitions with
videos without having to set up permanent permissions, which are
especially hard to accomplish with fat32/ntfs).
vlc-wrapper doesn't help me with that.
I just want to run it with *my* user (which happens to be root
sometimes). I don't understand why is it should be restricted.
