Hallo!
In den Packman-Paketen fehlen die "tracks"-Daten für VDRIFT .
Ich habe folgende Pakete von ftp://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/11.2/ verwendet

noarch/vdrift-data-20090615-0.pm.2.1.noarch.rpm

Es fehlt das Verzeichnis "tracks" mit
Ziel: /usr/share/games/vdrift/data/tracks
Ich habe mir die Quellen von http://vdrift.net/ heruntergeladen und das
Verzeichnis tracks von dort verwendet

I thought there _must_ be something wrong with your packages.
Multiple people on forums (both openSUSE and XBMC) report, that packaged by
you XBMC crashes and vanilla one doesn't.

LOL, Nobody forces you to use this package. And you use all of our packages at
your own risk :)
We do our best and if it doesn't work for you, why not writing DIRECTLY to
us ? Instead of doing so, you post in several communities and tracs. Do you
really think we must read and search for such comments ?
If you have a problem with one of our packages, the first thing should be to
write a email to package-maintainer or packman mailing-list.
Just my 2cent.

I would like to contribute pdftk 1.41 that I built for openSUSE 11.0, 11.1
(gcj 4.3), and 11.2 (gcj 4.4). This package could satisfy the dependency for
pdftk-qgui already on PackMan. I combined patches from Gentoo and Debian to
overcome the change in behaviour of gcjh since version 1.41 was released in
2006. You can have a look at the spec and patches on the openSUSE build
service, project home:justinlau.
If PackMan is interested in adding this package, please send me information
on how to contribute. I would be happy to repackage to meet PackMan's rpm
standards.

looks that IS AN UPSTREAM BUG THEY ALREADY KNOW!
the only patch that may do something wrong is the
"no-return-in-non-void-function" that probably showed better this bug.

i'm trying to build it without the patches to see if the crasch
disappear, but, add
#include <string.h>
or
typedef unsigned char uchar;
i don't think is a problem, specially when without it, the compilation
fail with "error: undefined type uchar"
i want to fix this because is a package that i often use and that i
like, if you know how to fix it, please, feel free to submit a chage
request and that one will be accepted and committed

Hi Detlef,
I just updated to the latest version of bibletime and sword via packman (on
openSuse 11.2, KDE 4.3.5 from KDE:Stable).
Now the bibletime program works nearly perfect - but I miss a small (but
important) part: the bible books.
All bible books disappeared from the bookshelf in the main window. Using the
booksheof administration dialog I get common books, dictionaries and others
from crosswire.org, but no bible books.
On the same system I can read all bible books with my jsword/bible desktop
program - so I think that all data in the /home/martin/.sword directory is ok.
I also testet renaming .bibletime and .sword directories - without success :-(
What happened to bibletime/sword?

It's necessary to patch xine-ui to work with lirc from openSUSE 11.2. I
haven't added this patch in the "daily build" (only when changes are
maid build is started) version. So I think, lirc will not work with this
version.

If you have a Remotecontrol, thats working for your computer, then you
can control xine with it. Start xine and have a look at Properties/Key
control (or so). Mark an action, press Alias then Record and press the
key of your remote-control you wish to control the action.

absence of the 'good and ugly' language rpm packages. Under the /noarch
directories the link is to the source package and not to the lang
package (as is the case for the bad plugins). Of course, I could always
attempt my own
compile.

Jetzt hab ich doch noch was gefunden. Eine kleine Änderung im Makefile
sorgt dafür dass, import_ffmpeg gegen libavcodec gelinkt wird und nicht
nur gegen libavformat. Bei mir funktioniert es damit wieder. Ist auf dem
BuildServer.
Bitte um Rückmeldung, ob die neue Version das Problem behebt.

The one in the OBS contrib is an old version of pidgin-facebookchat and
doesn't work with the current pidgin version from OpenSuse 11.2, in all
my attempts at least.

mich mit bisher keinem Erfolg daran Tora für die 11.2 zu bauen.
Hast du eventuell vor das in nächster Zeit selber zu machen?
Ich verzeilfle so langsam an den Abhängigkeiten: qscintilla z.B. ist in 11.2
gegen qt3 gelinkt? Die oracle Sachen machen Probleme, das spec file ist nur
für redhat/fedora gedacht und kennt macros wie %{__cmake} die susi nicht hat,
und so weiter und so fort.
Wäre schön von dir zu hören

inzwischen verwendet ich Squirrel SQL oder SQL-Developer (Oracle).
Ersteres ist Open Source; zweiteres kann privat problemlos verwendet werden.
Beide sind in Java geschrieben und somit auch unter Linux lauffähig. von
Oracle gibts sogar ein rpm.
Und damit zu deiner eigentlichen Frage: ich verwende Tora nicht mehr,
deshalb gibts von mir auch kein Update mehr.

libdirac0:

its dependency on libdirac0. Both the 11.2 distro and
Packman versions of libdirac are 1.02 and both provide libraries
libdirac_encoder0 and libdirac_decoder0 and no

schreib einen Bugreport an SuSE, das liboil Paket verletzt die
shared-library-policy....
... und installiere das packman liboil Paket.

Hey
As you may or may not be aware, it's possible to create actions for the Recent
Devices Notifier in KDE 4.x fairly easily by installing proper *.desktop files
to /usr/share/kde4/apps/solid/actions/. So for example when you put in a video
DVD, the device notifier will offer an action to play the DVD with your
favourite video player.
I've attached such files for SMPlayer, VLC and Kaffeine. I wonder if the
respective maintainers would be interested in adding them to the packages. If
you have contact with upstream, you might even want to ask them to include the
solid actions in official releases.
I'm aware packman doesn't have kaffeine, but maybe someone would be willing to
create a package with only the .desktop file for Kaffeine as a sort of add-on
- as I don't think I can convince kde-maintainer @suse to add the action to
official packages.
Of course if the user doesn't have libdvdcss it'll fail - but I think most
people will have it via the 1-click, and the rest would probably realize that
they're missing some form of codec.

Im Augenblick ja, mir erschien die KDE4 Version bisher immer ziemlich
unbrauchbar (kein vernünftiges Deinterlacing, das Fenster ist in der

Ich schau mir das Teil mal an, schaut so aus, als ob die Version
zumindest drei meiner "no-go" Kriterien abgestellt hätte. Damit wäre es

Ist auf unserem Build-Server, sobald der Zeit hat, wird es gebaut. Habs
vorher lokal getestet, es hat seit meinem letzten Test enorme
Fortschritte gemacht. Noch so ein Schub und es wird die KDE3 Version bei
mir ablösen.

ok, try jgnash.sh -opengl or use the kde-menu-entry jGnash (using OpenGL)
if this works, fine. If not try to install java-1_6_0-sun, enable it with
update-alternatives --java (You don't need to deinstall openjdk, they can
co-exist) and try it again.
Do you use a special window-manager (beryl) ? If so, you can also try
export AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit; jgnash.sh

It has been weeks now since kdenlive 0.7.6 became a broke on my openSUSE
distribution and I have some very urgent projects unfinished. Trying to start
from scratch in other non-liear editors was a waste of time.
On the behalf of other users, who - like myself - do not posess the skills to
compile the kdenlive 0.7.7, I would like to most kindly ask you to package
them for suse 11.2 as soon as it is possible.
kdenlive 0.7.6 is broken with qt 4.6.1 and of no use in kde 4.4.0.

we build against original SuSE packages, so kde is 4.3.x.
if you upgraded to kde 4.4.x, you must wait until we build against factory and
or until SuSE 11.3 is published

I'm also a heavy kdenlive user , and I do note that the latest packman
kdenlive works on a 64-bit openSUSE-11.2 with KDE-4.3.4 from a community
repository. That makes me optimistic it will work with the official
openSUSE KDE-4.3.5 for 11.2 which is anticipated very soon.
I was very happy to see the latest mlt-0.5.0-0.pm.2.1.x86_64,
libmlt2-0.5.0-0.pm.2.1.x86_64 and libmlt++3-0.5.0-0.pm.2.1.x86_64 work
with kde4-kdenlive-0.7.6-0.pm.1.2.x86_64.
The latest mlt version provides limited vdpau capabilities to kdenlive,
and I'm now able to process some video clips on an older 32-bit
althlon-2800 (with a GeForce 8400GS) that gave me a bit more problems
before the more recent mlt update (update less than 24 hours ago). I
suspect that imporovement may be due to the updated mlt, albeit I'm not
100% certain. Still, I much prefer using my faster Intel Core i7 920
(with 6GB RAM) when it comes to using kdenlive. :)

I wouldn't expect it to work, the link-libraries versions (SO-names) will
differ and so it wouldn't be installable on kde 4.4. I expect that a
installation of kdenlive will trigger a downgrade kde 4.4 to 4.3.
But I may be wrong.

- This is an enhancement release, confined mainly to the modules rather
than the framework. In particular, this adds support for VDPAU, YADIF,
and HD-SDI technologies!

Requires FFmpeg built with vdpau.
This is automatically detected and enabled.

Funktionien bietet, nicht überstürzt zugunsten der KDE4-Version
aufzugeben.

after quite a while I've run into a largefile bug again ;)
the specfile sets "CFLAGS=$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" and since the subdir's makefiles
only set CFLAGS if not defined before, requant suffers the 2Gb limitation.
can you add "-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -DLARGEFILE64_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64"
to the CFLAGS and possibly CPPFLAGS setting ?
(tested, works that way)

Jakub, your GeForce 7900 GS can only take advantage of VDPAU to a very
limited extent (if at all), and you likely will see no VDPAU benefit in
kdelive for most (if not all) videos.
Note this URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VDPAU which notes the
GeForce 7 (7xxx) series Nvidia VDPAU feature set is "not supported".
The MS-Windows Pure Video is limited to VP1 and the Linux VDPAU has less
capabilities than Pure Video (on Windows) for the GeForce 7xxx.
I'm fortunate because I have one of the latest GeForce 8400 GS (with a
G98 GPU w/ VP3 Nvidia VDPAU Feature Set B support) on my somewhat
ancient 32-bit Athlon-2800 cpu PC;
... but I have a GeForce GTX 260 with a GTX 200 GPU w/VP2 and Nvidia
VDPAU Feature Set A support on my much newer and much faster Intel Core
i7 920 based PC (although the i7 is so fast as to not need VDPAU).
Glad to read you have success with kdenlive 0.7.7 packaged by RedDwarf.
A caution there ... grab the source file from him, as he packages for
himself and does not maintain his packages to the same extent as the
Packman Packagers.
Myself? I prefer stability over cutting edge, and hence I am happy with
the current KDEnlive packaged by Packman and prefer caution when
KDEnlive updates are made.

wieder einmal habe ich ein kleines Programm gefunden, das nützlich sein kann:
alien (http://kitenet.net/~joey/code/alien/), ein kleines aber starkes
Konsolenprogramm, mit dem man .deb Pakete in .rpm Pakete (alien -r -c *.deb)
und umgekehrt (Pakete dpkg, dpkg-dev, debhelper werden benötigt) umwandeln
kann. Anbei die Pakete (rpm mit checkinstall gebaut).

How did you upgrade? Maybe you should try a "zypper dup".

Realcrypt ist kein Upgrade für Truecrypt !
Nicht ohne Grund mußten die Fusion Leute ihrer gepachten Version
einen anderen Namen geben, und das Aussehen ändern.
Es kann daher nicht sein, daß bei einem zypper dup unangefordert
realcrypt als upgrade für truecrypt daherkommt, und truecrypt löscht
um sich selbst zu installieren.
Bitte darum das zu ändern.

da wurde nichts modifiziert, es wird nur der Name und die Icons
ausgetauscht.

Falsch, die Lizens verbietet das verteilen eines selbst gebauten RPMs
uner dem Namen Truecrypt. Der Quellcode bleibt unangetastet, nur alles
was auf den Namen Truecrypt verweißt, wird entfernt.
Trotzdem sollte das Provides/Obsoletes vielleicht durch ein Conflicts
ersetzt werden.

I'd try doing it myself via OBS but I don't know the first thing about writing
spec files. Yes, I've read the tutorials and it mostly means nothing to me. We
need a "spec files for Dummies" guide somewhere...

You probably got
error: Failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.7 is needed by amaya_wx-11.3.1-0.i386
libssl.so.7 is needed by amaya_wx-11.3.1-0.i386
For the time being, try the following (as root):
rpm -ivh --nodeps amaya_wx-11.3.1-0.i386.rpm
ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.7
ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 /usr/lib/libssl.so.7
After these steps, you should be able to run Amaya.

Thanks, Javier. That indeed seems to work (at least with a cursory check).
I'll test it out more thoroughly later to see if there are any oddities. I
tend to be wary of just creating symlinks to shared libraries in case there
are differences between versions that result in things like "undefined
symbols" or problems with other apps that also depend on these libraries.

Yes, I've read them but they didn't help much because they assume a certain
level of knowledge. When it comes to rpm, my knowledge extends to the -ivh, -q
and -e switches...the rest of it might as well be black magic as far as I can
tell :-).

I've been having problems with Songbird (I just ask before commit bug
report).
When I play from my library (tried to start from scratch also [moved
.songbird away and restarted] didn't help).
song starts fine but when next song should come it starts playing but
metadata ain't
updated. When the next song is done it just starts same song again. I'm
using latest and
greatest songbird build.
Does someone have samekind of a problem and can I solve it? Can
Songbird but in debug mode somehow?

Das lässt sich ganz einfach -unabhängig von jeglicher Versionierung- verhindern.
# zypper al realcrypt
oder über YaST realcrypt auf "Tabu" setzen.

Wenn es darum geht, dann hilft nur über YaST/zypper das entsprechende Paket sperren, alles andere ist inkonsequent, wie das geht, habe ich ja schon geschrieben.
Komischerweise haben andere (= praktisch alle anderen open Source Projekte) Anbieter ja auch kein Problem damit, wenn man ihren Code paketiert und ggf. verändert, damit er sich ordentlich ins System einfügt und bequem über den Paketmanager installiert werden kann (statt ihn händisch über die Homepage des Anbieters updaten zu müssen).
Im Gegensatz zu den Paketen von truecrypt.org (zumindest habe ich nichts gefunden) ist es bei den RealCrypt Paketen sogar möglich zu sehen, was "geändert" wurde, denn bei Packman gibt es die src.rpms.
Im Endeffekt vertraut man also bei den Paketen von truecrypt.org dem Paketierer blind, bei RealCrypt muss man dies nicht tun.

Ich sehe keinen Grund, wieso ich das ändern "muss", niemand muss es schliesslich installieren und kann es mit einem einzigen Befehl blockieren.
Ein "zypper dup" ist auch alles anderes als eine "unaufgeforderte" Änderung, außerdem zeigt zypper ganz deutlich an, daß er truecrypt ersetzen will.
Dies ist auch ganz normale Praxis bei Namensänderungen, sogar unabhängig davon, ob nun die Funktionalität die selbe ist, siehe z.B. die ganzen Umbenennungen, beim schrittweisen Übergang von KDE3 zu KDE4.

Looks realy interesting. The gxine.desktop.in file doesn't have this
problem. I don't see, where it happens. I've added a "sed" to fix it
sed -i -n '1h;2,$H;${g;s/\nx-content\/video-svcd\n/;x-content\/video-
svcd;/g;p}' %{buildroot}%{_datadir}/applications/gxine.desktop
New package will be available soon.

Only that I have been faster than you. Our BuildService was shortly before
building the packages that depend on libvdpau (mplayer, mythtv, etc.), so I

da ich noch nicht so bewandt bin mit Linux und dem Zusammenstellen von rpm
Packeten, schicke ich euch das KSTARS Planetarium einfach mal so zu.
Mit 3 Ausnahmen bezeichnen die Archivnamen durch Unterstriche getrennt den
Pfad zu den
Verzeichnissen, in die der Inhalt der Archive extrahiert werden muss.
Manchmal muss das Verzeichnis auch erstellt werden.
Nur die Dateien für das Verzeichnis /usr/bin sind auf 3 Archive verteilt,
usr_bin(1).tar, usr_bin(2).tar und usr_bin(3).tar.
Unter Umständen muss noch der Befehl ausgeführt werden
cd /usr/bin/
ln -s lx200generic lx200_16
ln -s lx200generic lx200autostar
ln -s lx200generic lx200classic
ln -s lx200generic lx200gps
obwohl ich die verknüpfungen einfach schon mitverpackt habe und das daher
nicht mehr nötig war, aber das würde ich nicht verallgemeinern.
Und schon läuft das Planetarium prima.
Ansonsten läuft bei mir alles was unter i586 und noarch verpackt ist so
wie die abwärtskompatibelität zu i386 und natürlich selbst kompiliertes.
Ich dachte mir bevor die Leute die auf Onlineupdates nicht stehen gar
nicht mehr in den Genuss kommen sende ich euch das ganze einfach mal zu
damit Ihr, wenn es euch gefällt, daraus eine RedHatPacketManager-Datei
machen könnt.

Habe zwischenzeitlich die vermissten Dateien unter usr/lib64/readers gefunden.
Ein einfaches Kopieren in das Verzeichnis usr/lib64 hilft nicht. Jetzt meldet
der Startversuch über die Konsole den Fehler "Error 40".
Tut mir einen Gefallen, bitte löst das Problem zeitnah. Ich bin auf die
Benutzung des Lesers zwingend angewiesen! Und bitte, bei solchen
Programmen darf es keine Fehler beim Verlinken von Dateien geben. Dazu ist
das zu wichtig!
