can you try to deinstall the gcj java ?
I remember that this package interferes with the other java packages also in 
openSuSE-11.1

and check your azureus.log for the used java-version.

you can find the azureus log in /tmp/Vuze.log
or comment out this line in /usr/bin/azureus:
# launch Vuze
run "$@" 2> $LogFileName

and change to
run "$@"

than restart azureus and check the output in the console
