I don't think so. The avidemux forum lists 2.4 as stable branche and 2.5 as

Even the ChangeLog says:

So it is known, that 2.5.1 is not already as stable as 2.4.4.

BTW: If I select a filter (tried several, e.g. mplayer delogo) and try to use 
it partial only, avidemux_gtk for openSuSE 11.2 from packman crashs. This did 
not happened with avidemux_gtk for openSuSE 11.1.
