Thank you for packaging the Avant Window Navigator and awn-extras.  We
have been using it for openSUSE 11.  I have a request for you.

Ubuntu has patched the awn extras so the weather applet correctly
queries weather.com.  However, the package on the packman site does not.

I wish I was more help to resolve the issue, but here is a thread...
