       Hello Manfred

Thanks for the nice job you do for the community.

From sysinfo:/
  OS : Linux 2.6.16.13-4-default x86_64
  System : SUSE LINUX 10.1 (X86-64)
  KDE : 3.5.1 Level "a"

       I downloaded the necessary packages
(http://packman.links2linux.de/package/xine-lib/17579) and as root:

patrick:[~]/bin/Video/Packman # ls
alsa-1.0.13-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-dxr3-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libcaca-0.9_0.99.beta11-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-gnome-vfs-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-jack-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-aa-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-sdl-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-arts-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-stk-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-devel-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-syncfb-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-directfb-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
libxine1-dvb-1.1.3-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
speex-1.1.99_1.2beta1-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm

patrick:[~]/bin/Video/Packman # rpm
-U ./speex-1.1.99_1.2beta1-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
./speex-1.1.99_1.2beta1-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm: n'est pas un paquetage rpm (ni
une liste de paquetages):

patrick:[~]/bin/Video/Packman # rpm -U ./alsa-1.0.13-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm
./alsa-1.0.13-0.pm.0.x86_64.rpm: n'est pas un paquetage rpm (ni une liste de
paquetages):

----->"./xxx.rpm: n'est pas un paquetage rpm (ni une liste de paquetages)"
means "./xxx.rpm: is not an rpm package (nor a packages list)"

So, what can I do? As I have an x86 packman "suse distribution like"
found in a so colled directory of a supplementary DVD from a polish magazin
also distributed in France (called "Linux+", issue "OpenSuSE 10.1"), I
looked for a "PackMan" distribution (some iso CD image) but did not find
one. I allready installed some of the packages you work on on a 32 bits
SuSE 10.1 system and it works well. Does it exists for x86_64 architecture?

Thank you for the attention you paid to this mail, and once more, for
the nice job you do.

Patrick
