vlc-2.0.8a-150.2 in 13.1m3 (Packman) and 2.0.8a-39.1 (VideoLAN) in 12.3
cannot play what SMplayer2 (Packman) can (while both vlc 2.0.7-1 and SMplayer
in Fedora 19 can) with these error messages:
"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the format mpgv
Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the format a52
Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

I never heard of an "a52" video format.

Example file (4.2GB):
http://fm.no-ip.com/Files/Pub/wat0101IonEHD-201304081500s2.ts

Installed:
kdenlive-0.9.6-2.19
ffmpeg-2.0-1.11
libmlt6-0.9.0-1.2

On first start of kdenlive, it config wizard reports avformat module ffmpeg
is not installed. Trying to add clip always results in reported invalid file
format and subsequent discard of clip.

FWIW, Fedora 19 uses these:
kdenlive-0.9.6-2
ffmpeg-1.2.1-3
mlt-0.8.8-5
