it seems the only reason the soname was changed is because of "Reorder
and modify public structures to reduce the holes caused by padding
especially on 64-bit architectures". Is this correct? In such a case
there should be no need to maintain both versions of the packages
since the API has not changed.
There can be real concerns... I can't check right now if the libraries
use symbol versioning to avoid the usual problems of mixing the two
libraries. Just want to know what's the current situation. What's your
plan here?
