Yes, this is all on purpose.

The problem is that kdenlive doesn't work properly with dvdauthor 0.7.x
So until this is fixed upstream (by the kdenlive developers), I decided
to also package the old dvdauthor 0.6.x (as dvdauthor0_6) and have a
hard "Requires: dvdauthor0_6" in kdenlive.

dvdauthor0_6 conflicts with dvdauthor, indeed.

So what you have to do is deinstall dvdauthor.
