[packman] VLC 1.0.5 crashes when playing any video stream

Hello,

if this is a bug in (Packman's version?) VLC 1.0.5 I can't be the only one 
affected...:

if I play a stream, e.g. from Youtube, VLC 1.0.5 crashes immediately:

I have already reported this to the videolan.org forum, but they say the 
packager might have used optimizations, that prevent gdb from proper 
backtrace, see thread at http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=74047

I use vlc-1.0.5-1.pm.3.28 on openSUSE 11.1 (i586).
