[packman] Mplayer troubles

I have installed MPlayer-1.0rc1try3-1.pm.1 from packman site. I also have
installed k3b which uses the codecs that mplayer needs. When i try to use
mplayer, it starts but does not play the file. It will immediately close.
Also, the "control" part (the part that has the stop/play buttons) of
mplayer does not open. I wonder if there is a problem with mplayerxx-try3?
